Duke will no longer open its 2020-21 season Wednesday against Gardner-Webb due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Bulldogs' basketball program, the Blue Devils announced Monday.

Instead, Duke's season opener will now take place Saturday when it hosts Coppin State at 2 p.m. ET.

Arizona also won't play its scheduled first game of the season Wednesday against Northern Arizona after the latter program registered a positive test, a source told Jeff Goodman of Stadium.

The 2020-21 college basketball season is set to tip off nationwide Wednesday, though several programs have temporarily shut down in recent days due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Florida announced Sunday that it would miss two games this week after a positive test forced the team to suspend all men's basketball activity. On Monday, Ole Miss paused its program until Dec. 7.

The new season was originally supposed to begin Nov. 10.
