Top recruit Jonathan Kuminga to join G League, bypass college

Jonathan Kuminga, the No. 4-ranked prospect in the 2020 ESPN 100, will sign in the G League pro pathway program and forgo college, he told The Athletic's Shams Charania on Wednesday.

The deal is in the $500,000 range, sources told Charania.

Kuminga recently reclassified from the class of 2021 and was also considering offers from Kentucky, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Duke.

The 6-foot-7 forward becomes the latest top prep talent to head for the G League ranks, joining the likes of Jalen Green, Isaiah Todd, Daishen Nix, and Kai Sotto.

Kuminga was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before moving to the United States in 2016. He played this past year at The Patrick School in New Jersey.
