Throughout the college basketball season, we'll highlight the top betting trends and angles for the biggest games on the schedule. Here are some tips for Wednesday's slate.

No. 9 Maryland at Minnesota (-1, 134)

A top-10 team getting points against an unranked foe sounds like solid value, right? Why yes, actually. While top-10 teams struggled in this spot earlier in the season, they've gone 4-1 straight up and against the spread in their last five attempts. Maryland has also covered five of its last six road games and is 4-1 ATS against unranked teams like Minnesota.

Trend play: Maryland +1

St. John's at No. 12 Villanova (-12.5, 146)

A clash of styles will be on display between Villanova (276th in adjusted tempo) and St. John's (16th). The Wildcats predictably produce low-scoring games - with a 13-4 under mark in their last 17 contests - but the Red Storm's inefficient offense has aided an 11-5 under run despite an up-tempo pace.

Trend play: Under 145.5

Rutgers at No. 16 Penn State (-5, 137.5)

Since peaking at No. 9 in the polls, Penn State has lost two straight games in conference play. Another tough test could be in store against Rutgers, which is 5-2-1 ATS on the road this year and 6-0 ATS against ranked opponents with three outright wins in that stretch.

Trend play: Rutgers +5

LSU at Florida (-5, 148)

If you like offense, you'll love this game. LSU's second-ranked offense has produced six straight overs with an 8-1 over record in away contests, while Florida has gone 4-1 to the over in its last five at home. This total's too low not to pounce.

Trend play: Over 148
