Five-star power forward Isaiah Todd committed to Michigan on Thursday, choosing the Wolverines over runner-up Kansas.

Todd, a native of Richmond, Virginia, is ranked No. 7 overall and first among power forwards on the 2020 ESPN 100 board. Listed at 6-foot-9 and 215 lbs, he plays for Word of God Christian Academy in North Carolina, which boasts John Wall among its alumni.

In committing to Michigan, Todd becomes the first five-star recruit of Juwan Howard's tenure as head coach. Howard, a star for the Wolverines during the "Fab Five" era, took over the reins when John Beilein assumed head coach duties with the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer.

"I'm headed to Michigan because of coach Juwan Howard and his background in the NBA and his background at Michigan," Todd told 247Sports' Evan Daniels. "He has connection on the other side, obviously coach Bill Self did too, but considering me and coach Juwan's relationships I just felt like we were a little bit closer just simply because we talk more and connected more on a different level."
