Ja Morant was unstoppable in Murray State's 83-64 first-round victory over Marquette on Thursday.

The sophomore guard had 17 points, 16 assists, and 12 rebounds to become the eighth player to record a triple-double in the NCAA Tournament since assists became an official stat in the 1983-84 season, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Draymond Green, Cole Aldrich, Dwyane Wade, Andre Miller, David Cain, Shaquille O'Neal, and Gary Grant are the only other players to accomplish the feat.

Green had recorded the most recent triple-double, which came during Michigan State's 89-67 opening-round win over LIU-Brooklyn in 2012.

Wade was the last guard to notch a triple-double, doing so in Marquette's Elite Eight victory over Kentucky in 2003.

Morant scored or assisted on 55 points, the most points created by a player in an NCAA Tournament game in the last 10 years, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello. The 19-year-old is also the first player to have at least 15 points and 15 assists in the Big Dance since UCLA's Earl Watson in 2000, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

His 16 dimes tied for the most in any first-round game and are the second most in tournament history, according to NCAA director of media coordination and statistics David Worlock.
