Ohio State has suspended leading scorer Kaleb Wesson for violating the school's athletic department policy, head coach Chris Holtmann announced in a statement obtained by The Athletic's Bill Landis.
Neither the exact reasons behind the suspension nor its length was mentioned, but the 6-foot-9 forward will return this season.
Ohio State lacks size in the frontcourt and will likely turn to Kyle Young to fill in.
Wesson is averaging a team-leading 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds in 28 appearances.
The Buckeyes (18-10) enter their final three contests having won just eight of their 17 conference games after a scorching 12-1 start to the season.
