During Wednesday's American Athletic Conference game between Connecticut and Tulsa, both Huskies coach Danny Hurley and Golden Hurricane bench boss Frank Haith were ejected after simultaneously picking up their second technical fouls.

Hurley didn't hesitate to blast the officials for their decisions after Tulsa's 89-83 win.

"That was bad," Hurley said, according to the New Haven Register's David Borges. "An embarrassment for the league, embarrassing for me and Frank, and our programs and universities. Even though I believe that that’s on the officials and the way they handled it, I'd like to apologize to the university and the fans for that."

Hurley and Haith first picked up a technical each after jawing at each other on the sideline Wednesday. Later, when they attempted to shake hands, the referee ejected both coaches.

"Some things need to be done from the league office on this one," Hurley said. "When I'm wrong, I'll take it. I'll take my technicals, I'll take my ejection (vs. Iowa in December). I'll take that and eat it. I was wrong then. But (Wednesday) was a complete overreaction, and then an escalation."
