NC State sophomore big man Omer Yurtseven has been granted his release from the program and will explore pro options or even a school transfer, reports Jeff Borzello of ESPN.

"Omer and I had an opportunity to visit and he expressed his intentions to either pursue a professional career or consider transferring from NC State," Wolfpack coach Kevin Keatts said in a statement, via Borzello. "Omer made incredible strides this year ... We wish him continued progress and success in his future."

The 7-foot Turkish native was a vastly improved player this season, averaging 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds on 57.2 percent shooting. Last season, he averaged just 5.9 points and 4.4 boards

Yurtseven previously played professional ball in Europe for Turkish side Fenerbahce before committing to the Wolfpack in May 2016.
