Kentucky's NBA talent on display in smashing of Buffalo's Cinderella run

Hopefully, the Buffalo faithful partied hard after upsetting Arizona on Thursday, because Kentucky served the Cinderella Bulls a cold dish of reality in the Round of 32.

The Bulls showed they can handle individual NBA talent in shutting down potential No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton versus the Wildcats, but Kentucky's talent level goes well past one man.

A number of players on John Calipari's roster will likely play professionally, but it was the dynamic duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Hamidou Diallo that did the most damage Saturday.

Gilgeous-Alexander took control of the game from the jump, pouring in 27 points on a ridiculous 10-of-12 shooting, while also adding six assists and six rebounds.

The Canadian guard was unstoppable off the bounce all game, using his massive 7-foot wingspan to get off any shot he wanted at the rim.

It wasn't just close-range damage that Gilgeous-Alexander inflicted, as he showed he can hit from deep as well, banging home both his 3-point attempts.

Almost as impressive as his length was his quickness and athleticism, as he showed off a ridiculous spin move down the stretch to get to the bucket with ease.

Gilgeous-Alexander's all-around brilliance saw him become the first freshman with at least 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists in the NCAA tournament since Chris Paul with Wake Forest in 2004.

If the freshman standout provided the steadying hand throughout, it was Diallo who brought the highlights, showing off his 44.5-inch vertical leap.

First, it was a massive chase-down block that would've made LeBron James proud, igniting the crowd by sending the potential layup into the seats.

Then, he took things to the offensive end, skying over two defenders for an incredible stickback dunk.

Not content with just one insane dunk on the day, Diallo closed out the Kentucky win in style, soaring for an epic windmill to push the Wildcats' lead to 20 points.

He finished with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting while also adding eight boards on the game.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Diallo aren't the only Wildcats heading to the NBA one day, but if they can repeat their performance from Saturday, that's all the team may need to cut down the nets in San Antonio.
