Texas' Bamba not ready to make NBA decision

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Star freshman Mohamed Bamba said after Texas' first-round loss in the NCAA tournament he isn't sure when he'll decide to either enter the 2018 NBA Draft or return to school for his sophomore year.

"I'm not too concerned about that right now," Bamba told reporters following the Longhorns' 87-83 overtime defeat versus Nevada, via ESPN's Alex Scarborough. "I'm still processing."

Bamba, a projected top-10 pick, put up 13 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks in Friday's losing effort. The 6-foot-11 center averaged 12.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks this season.

A five-star recruit one year ago, Bamba hoped to lead Texas deep into the tournament. Instead, he and the Longhorns were bounced in the first round, which Texas hasn't gotten past since 2014.

"The expectation was to win a national championship," he said. "As it went on my freshman year it kind of gave me a level of humility."
