Donte DiVincenzo named Final Four Most Outstanding Player
Villanova's Donte DiVincenzo stole the show inside San Antonio's Alamodome.
DiVincenzo was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player after his 31-point performance propelled the Wildcats to victory over the Michigan Wolverines in the national championship game on Monday.
The sophomore added five rebounds, three assists, and two thunderous blocks as Villanova won its third national title.
The performance came after DiVincenzo scored 15 points on 67 percent shooting in his team's semifinal victory over Kansas. The Big East Sixth Man of the Year carried that form into Monday's game, as he hit 10-of-15 field goals against Michigan, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range.
Overall, it was a record-breaking three days for the guard in San Antonio. DiVincenzo set a new national championship game record with 31 points off the bench, and scored the most points in an NCAA final since 1989.
