Only one day after reportedly receiving an offer from Georgia for its head coaching job, Thad Matta told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that he is no longer in the running for the Bulldogs' gig.

Matta met with Georgia officials twice over the past week, sources told Goodman, but the former Ohio State bench boss says he's decided against re-entering the college basketball realm at this time.

The 50-year-old stepped away from coaching last June due to chronic back problems. He amassed a career record of 439-154 while serving as head coach for Butler, Xavier, and most recently, the Buckeyes.

He was relieved of his duties in 2017 after a season in which the team went 17-15.
