Krzyzewski's $8.98M tops list of highest-paid coaches in college hoops
With five national titles to his name, there's little debate that Mike Krzyzewski is one of the best coaches of all time, and Duke is certainly paying the 71-year-old as such.
According to USA Today's annual list of coaches salaries in college basketball, Krzyzewski's $8.9 million total compensation is the highest in the country, topping Kentucky's John Calipari at $7.94 million.
Chris Holtmann's move from Butler to Ohio State turned out to be very lucrative as the first-year Buckeyes coach ranked third at $7.14 million. Bill Self of Kansas and Tom Izzo of Michigan State round out the top five earners at $4.95 and $4.35 million, respectively.
