LaVar: LaMelo, LiAngelo sign with Lonzo's agent, no longer eligible for NCAA

LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball have signed with agent Harrison Gaines, their father LaVar confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

This means LaMelo, 16, will no longer be eligible to play in the NCAA after previously committing to UCLA as part of the 2019 recruit class.

The two younger brothers of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball - who's also represented by Gaines - are exploring options to play overseas and have garnered interest from "several teams in Europe and Asia," per ESPN's sources.

Expect them to latch on with a club that will let them play together, as specified in the email Gaines reportedly sent out to teams, and reiterated by LaVar on Thursday.

"I don't care about the money," LaVar said. "I want them to go somewhere where they will play them together on the court at the same time. The priority is for the boys to play on the same team."

The famously outspoken father withdrew LiAngelo from UCLA earlier this week after growing frustrated with the club for suspending his middle son and not disclosing if or when the freshman will get to play. LiAngelo was penalized by the school following his return from China, where he was arrested for shoplifting.

LaVar, who took LaMelo out of Chino Hills High School to homeschool him two months ago, hopes the experience overseas will help prepare his sons for the NBA.
