It's one of the great basketball what-ifs: Which school would Kobe Bryant have attended if the Lakers legend was forced to spend a year in college?

Drum roll, please.

In a follow-up tweet, Bryant explained his reasoning for why he would've opted for the Blue Devils instead of, say, following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan by joining Dean Smith's legendary North Carolina Tar Heels.

"Coach Smith stopped recruiting me," he said. "He thought I would go pro and wished me luck. Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) kept at it."

Duke could've used the Black Mamba's help back in 1996-97, Bryant's first season in the NBA. After earning a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament that year, the school was upset in the second round by God Shammgod's 10th-seeded Providence.
