Jim Calhoun could soon make a return to the sidelines.

The former UConn bench boss had serious discussions with the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford and has been offered a head coaching job with the school, sources told Dom Amore of The Hartford Courant.

"I've got a couple of other things in the works, one involving basketball, which I'm intrigued by," Calhoun told Amore. "It's coaching."

St. Joseph is starting a Division III men's basketball program that will begin play in 2018, and is reportedly expecting a decision from Calhoun within a week.

"Every time I talk to somebody, the kids, I realize how much I miss the kids," Calhoun said. "I say, 'I know there were times you never thought you'd miss me. There are times I never thought I'd miss you.' We all miss each other. That's what I miss, people getting together, getting on a bus, driving someplace. I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I do want to do some basketball stuff if I can. If I can't, fine. I do want to do some games (for TV)."

Calhoun led the Huskies to three national championships and four Final Four appearances during his 26 seasons at UConn.
