Butler has named Milwaukee's LaVall Jordan as its new head coach, the team announced Monday.

The 38-year-old was an assistant at Butler from 2004-07 before filling the same role at Iowa and Michigan. He also played for the Bulldogs for four seasons.

Jordan's lone season as head coach of the Panthers didn't go well, as Milwaukee managed just 11 wins. That said, the team went all the way to the Horizon League tournament final and was one win away from cracking the NCAA tournament.

Had it done so, Milwaukee would have set the record for most losses while still making the tournament.

Butler is replacing Chris Holtmann, who took the Ohio State job last week.
