West Virginia's Macon skipping senior season to turn pro

Timothy T. Ludwig / USA TODAY Sports

West Virginia's frontcourt took a hit on Tuesday as Elijah Macon told Chris Anderson of 247 Sports that he's signing with an agent and skipping his final season to turn professional.

The 6-foot-9, 240-pounder, who already has his degree from the school, averaged 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in just 16 minutes of action per contest last season.

While it's highly unlikely Macon is selected in the NBA draft, there's a good chance he finds professional opportunities in a number of leagues around the world.
