Dennis Smith Jr. officially hires agent, will remain in 2017 NBA Draft

Rob Kinnan / USA TODAY Sports

It was essentially a foregone conclusion, but former NC State guard Dennis Smith Jr. made his NBA draft participation official after announcing Monday that he has hired representation.

Smith told ESPN's Jeff Goodman he has hired Kim Grillier of PSE Sports as his agent, which officially nullifies his remaining college eligibility.

One year was clearly enough for Smith to make himself known as an anticipated lottery pick, averaging 18.1 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds on 46 percent shooting.
