Terrance Ferguson has no regrets about spurning Arizona for a professional stint overseas, and the former five-star recruit suggested at the NBA Combine on Friday that other up-and-comers consider doing the same.

"If you want to be a ballplayer and just focus on basketball, school is definitely going to weigh you down most days," Ferguson told Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star. "I definitely would advise it for that."

Ferguson was lined up play at Arizona after graduating from high school, but decided on a different route over the summer. The 6-foot-7 wing took his talents to Australia, where he accumulated income and professional experience as a member of the Adelaide 36ers.

He's now back in the United States preparing for the 2017 NBA Draft.

"The game I played in was very physical," Ferguson noted, as he discussed his time in Australia. "You had to bump and grind against older, physical players. If that translates to the NBA, that's going to be a huge thing for me because I'm so used to it also."

Ferguson averaged 4.6 points and played 15.1 minutes per game for the 36ers.
