South Carolina's Dozier to enter NBA draft after red-hot tournament
After a breakout performance in South Carolina's run to the Final Four, PJ Dozier has declared for the NBA draft, but will not hire an agent for the process.
His decision to decline representation leaves the door open for a return to college, provided he withdraws from the draft before the May 24 deadline.
"I want to thank my family, Coach (Frank) Martin, my teammates, and our amazing fans at South Carolina for the support that I've received thus far in my time as a Gamecock," Dozier said in a statement. "After talking with my family and Frank following our time at the Final Four, I've made the decision to submit my name for the draft, but I've not hired an agent. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow my game and the draft process."
The 6-foot-6 guard was a beast for Martin's bunch in their five NCAA tournament games, averaging 15.6 points and 4.8 rebounds, while also starring on defense.
For the season, Dozier averaged 13.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, finishing as the Gamecocks' second-leading scorer.
