Four-star point guard Isaiah Washington announced his commitment to Minnesota on Sunday as a member of its 2017 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-1, 160-pound guard turned down scholarship offers from Seton Hall, Texas A&M, and VCU for the opportunity to join Richard Pitino's program.
Washington is ranked 96th on the ESPN 100. The Brooklyn native becomes the first recruit to join the Golden Gophers' 2017 class.
