Report: Air Force the 18th team on Big 12's expansion list

The list of Big 12 expansion candidates has 18 names - not 17, as initially thought - and Air Force is the final school, ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports.
McMurphy previously reported that the Big 12 was set to hear pitches from 17 schools that wished to gain entrance into the conference. Most of the institutions listed had long been rumored as Big 12 expansion possibilities, while a few others had been off the radar:
- Arkansas State
- Boise State
- BYU
- Cincinnati
- Colorado State
- Connecticut
- East Carolina
- Houston
- Memphis
- Northern Illinois
- New Mexico
- San Diego State
- SMU
- Temple
- Tulane
- UCF
- South Florida
McMurphy reported Friday morning that the conference will likely add two teams to its 10-member pool, rather than bring in four newcomers and expand the conference to 14.
