Syracuse to honor 'Pearl' Washington vs. Georgetown
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports
Syracuse will honor the late Dwayne "Pearl" Washington ahead of a matchup against rival Georgetown on Dec. 17.
The program will place a logo of Washington's No. 31 on the Carrier Dome floor at the approximate distance Washington hit his famous halfcourt buzzer-beater to beat Boston College in 1984.
Washington, who passed away in April after a lengthy battle with cancer, ranks third all-time in assists despite only playing three years with the Orange.
The school also announced a limited number of $31 tickets will be made available to the game.
