SMU is expected to sign new head coach Tim Jankovich to a contract at least five years in length, a source told Andy Katz of ESPN.
The deal will reportedly give Jankovich one of the top salaries of any basketball coach in the American Athletic Conference.
The 57-year-old Jankovich was officially named Larry Brown's replacement Monday, following Brown's resignation three days earlier.
In prior stints at North Texas and Illinois State, Jankovich has compiled a career record of 157-121 as a head coach. He spent the last four seasons on SMU's bench as an assistant.
