Baylor's Scott Drew admits 'everyone's been hurt' by scandal

The Baylor football program has been rocked by a sexual assault scandal, eventually leading to the ouster of head coach Art Briles, and Baylor basketball coach Scott Drew admits the incident has hurt everyone at the school.

"I know obviously everyone's been hurt and disappointed from a standpoint because we know what a great place Baylor is and we knew just how hard we all work to make it a great time for our students and our athletes while they're at Baylor University," Drew told Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News. "Each and everyday we ask our players to improve and that's what we're trying to do as a university, continue to improve."

The stain left by the football scandal has painted the entire university in a negative light, but Drew is doing his best to steer the discussion towards what Baylor will do going forward.

"It's enabled us to talk about Baylor University and for us to explain what measures our university is taking with the goals to make it one of the safest campuses in America," the 45-year-old said. "We want to make sure that we provide a safe, good positive environment for the students. Whenever that doesn't happen, we're all disappointed."
