Snoop Dogg may be an icon in southern California, but if the legendary rapper had his choice of college basketball coaches, he would be headed to Michigan State.
"I wish I could have played for Izzo," Snoop Dogg said Saturday, according to MLive.com's Eric Woodyard.
He got to meet the coach while he was in Flint on the weekend for a "Hoop 4 Water" charity game helping to raise money for the city that's suffering a devastating water crisis.
"When I watched Mo (Morris Peterson) and them back in the day and how they had so much fun out there, I like his spirit of how he knows how to coach."
Flint native Peterson also played in the game.
Though he's a USC fan, Snoop Dogg said it wasn't just Izzo that made the 18-time Grammy nominee feel a little partial to the Spartans.
"I love the 'S' on the Spartans uniform because if represents Snoop Dogg," he joked.
Snoop Dogg wore a No. 32 jersey with "Baby Magic" on the name plate in tribute to Spartans and Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson. Unfortunately, that didn't help his team to victory, as Peterson's deep 3-pointer late in the contest gave his squad the win.
