Chattanooga adds Xavier transfer Makinde London
Chattanooga added a major conference talent Wednesday, as Xavier forward Makinde London told Jeff Goodman from ESPN he'll transfer to the Southern Conference program.
The move to Chattanooga is a homecoming of sorts for the 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward, who hails from nearby Nashville. London saw limited action with the Musketeers last season, averaging just 1.6 points in 5.3 minutes.
Coming out of Tennessee, London was the state's fourth-ranked player in the 2014 recruiting class, and picked Xavier over a number of Division I programs. His signing is a great addition for a Chattanooga program that thrived under first-year coach Matt McCall.
The Mocs captured the Southern League Tournament title, capturing a bid to the NCAA tournament in the process. Despite an opening-round loss to Indiana, the future looks bright for the program.
As per NCAA transfer regulations, London will be forced to sit out next season before becoming eligible in 2017-18.
