Hawks ship Shelvin Mack to Jazz in 3-team trade

The Atlanta Hawks have traded guard Shelvin Mack to the Utah Jazz in exchange for a second-round draft pick as part of a three-team trade on Thursday.

Mack, a five-year veteran who will earn roughly $2.4 million next season, has played less than 200 minutes for the Hawks this season, but could find time in a Jazz backcourt looking for answers given Dante Exum's seson-long absence and Alec Burks' current ankle injury.

The Jazz also sent a future second-round pick to the Chicago Bulls, who acquired guard Justin Holiday from Atlanta while sending the Hawks veteran guard Kirk Hinrich.

With Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder commanding time at the point, Mack wasn't going to see a minutes increase in Atlanta anytime soon, barring an injury.

In a coincidental twist, Mack's first game with Utah, where he'll be reunited with college teammate Gordon Hayward, will come against their former Butler coach, Brad Stevens.
