New York Knicks small forward Lance Thomas will miss at least the next two contests as he goes through the NBA's concussion protocol, the team announced.

Thomas sustained the injury in Thursday night's loss to the Detroit Pistons.

The 27-year-old has put together one of his best seasons, averaging career highs in points (8.6), 3-point percentage (.420), and win shares (1.8).

The Knicks (23-29) are already without Carmelo Anthony for Friday night's matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies, so New York faces a tough task at Madison Square Garden.
