George W. Bush versus Al Gore it's not, but if this were a real election campaign, Thursday's results would trigger an automatic recount.

Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks beat out Pau Gasol of the Chicago Bulls by a comical 360 votes to claim the final Eastern Conference starting frontcourt spot in February's NBA All-Star Game in Toronto.

The extremely close number is also indicative of how drastically things can shift in All-Star balloting numbers in the final week of voting. On Jan. 14, Gasol was more than 74,000 votes behind Anthony and in fifth place. Gasol leapfrogged Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons to inch up to Anthony, posting a season-high 31 points on the last day of voting Monday.
