If head coach Alvin Gentry's play call was for his team to lob the ball up to Anthony Davis and let him do the rest, then the New Orleans Pelicans' execution was simply flawless.

With the Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets tied at 107 in the waning moments of the fourth quarter Friday, Davis and point guard Jrue Holiday worked the pick-and-roll to perfection, leading to an alley-oop jam from "The Brow" to put New Orleans up by two with two seconds remaining on the game clock:

AD coming in clutch!

A potential game-winning 3-pointer by Nicolas Batum fell short of hitting the mark, giving the Pelicans a 109-107 victory at the Smoothie King Center.

It was the second win in a row for New Orleans following a four-game losing streak, with Davis scoring 22 points on an efficient 8-of-14 from the field in 35 minutes of action.
