The Dallas Mavericks will carry on without their backup point guard heading into Friday's game against the Houston Rockets.
J.J. Barea, who missed the last three games with a sprained ankle, will continue to nurse his injury and sit out against the Rockets.
The Mavericks have gone 2-1 in Barea's absence, with starting point guard Deron Williams faring well in the extended minutes he's received. In Tuesday's 115-112 overtime win against the Portland Trail Blazers, the 6-foot-3 point guard posted season highs in points (30), field goals (11), and blocks (2).
Devin Harris will resume his role as the team's primary backup until Barea returns to action.
