LeBron: Cavs were 'outmatched' in 2015 Finals
The 2015 NBA Finals concluded over five months ago, yet LeBron James is still reflecting on how his Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
"I don’t think we were outcoached or outplayed," James told Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated. "I think we were outmatched."
The Cavaliers finished up the series without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, two of their best players, so it's easy to understand LeBron's frustrations. Despite falling in the series, James became the first player to lead an NBA Finals in points (35.8 per game), rebounds (13.3), and assists (8.8).
Cleveland has gotten off to a hot start in 2015-16, as the team currently sits first in the Eastern Conference at 13-4. However, LeBron still isn't satisfied with his team's effort this year.
"All things considered, our record is pretty good, isn’t it?" James said. "Well, I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all."
Instead, he'd prefer if the team had an attitude similar to his old Miami Heat teams, where he won two titles in four years before returning to Cleveland.
"We had a rage," he said. "We weren’t always perfect, but we played with rage and we practiced with rage."
Cleveland's next game will be on Tuesday, when they take on the Washington Wizards at Quicken Loans Arena.
