Analysis:

Smart is no longer using crutches, but he continues to wear a bulky leg brace, per A. Sherrod Blakely of CSN. Coach Brad Stevens said it's all but a certainty that Smart misses all five games of the road trip, and he called Smart a "long shot" to return for one of the first two games following the road swing (Dec. 9, Dec. 11). As such, Smart should continue to be considered out indefinitely, and at this point it's unclear when, exactly, he could rejoin the team.
