Pelicans' Evans a game-time decision vs. Suns
Slowly but surely, the New Orleans Pelicans are regaining their health.
Swingman Tyreke Evans is almost recovered from his knee injury and will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's contest against the Phoenix Suns, John Reid of NOLA.com reports.
Evans was initially supposed to miss six-to-eight weeks, but a return on Wednesday would mark a tremendously fast recovery in only five weeks.
The banged-up Pelicans have gotten off to an understandably slow start and sit just 3-11 on the season. Nagging injuries up and down the roster left the Pelicans with only nine healthy players in a game last week.
However, New Orleans could start to make up ground when its players get healthy. The Pelicans won 45 games and made the playoffs last season - Evans was a big part of their success - and it's not too late for them to make up ground in what appears to be a weaker Western Conference.
The 26-year-old Evans averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists last year.
