The Brooklyn Nets will be short their starting point guard when they tip off the season against the Chicago Bulls.
Jarrett Jack, who's sat out the past five days with a sore left hamstring, has been ruled out for Wednesday's contest, Devin Kharpertian of the Brooklyn Game reports.
In Jack's absence, Nets head coach Lionel Hollins will likely turn to one of Donald Sloan or Shane Larkin to take on playmaking duties in the starting unit.
The 31-year-old Jack averaged 12 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists last season, his first with the Nets. Despite some modest individual success, the Nets were seven points per 100 possessions worse with him on the court.
