Bucks waive Charlie Westbrook, Jon Horford
In an unbelievable turn of events, Westbrook and Horford have been cut during the preseason. Charlie and Jon, that is.
The Milwaukee Bucks have waived Charlie Westbrook and Jon Horford, the team announced Wednesday, trimming their camp roster to 18. Either player could be tabbed as a D-League affiliate player, but the Bucks' lack of an exclusive affiliate would make managing their development somewhat cumbersome.
Westbrook was signed to a camp deal in late August. The 26-year-old went undrafted out of South Dakota in 2012, getting a summer-league look from the Orlando Magic that offseason and a training camp stint with the Miami Heat in 2013. He spent 2013-14 in the D-League, sandwiched between seasons in Italy and France.
Horford, meanwhile, was signed in mid-September as an extra frontcourt body. The brother of Atlanta Hawks star Al Horford went undrafted as a five-year senior this summer, getting a look from the Hawks in summer league before landing with the Bucks.
Both players appeared in the Bucks' preseason opener, with Westbrook scoring four points with three rebounds in nine minutes and Horford failing to register on the box score in six minutes.
