One of the league's best stretch-fours in Channing Frye could be had on the cheap.

Grantland's Zach Lowe reports that the Magic are willing to trade the 32-year-old Frye for "very little." Team officials, however, denied that assertion, Lowe notes.

Frye was thoroughly disappointing in his debut season with the Orlando Magic after signing a four-year, $32-million contract last summer. Frye averaged just 7.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while his shooting percentage dipped below 40 percent for the first time in his nine-year career.

For his part, Frye admitted the need to improve after an "embarrassing" showing.

"Last year was, for the lack of a better term, a little embarrassing on all fronts. I think I have a lot to prove and I’m out here to put the work in and do it," Frye told John Denton of Magic.com.

The Magic's lack of success also ate away at Frye, who lamented the value of finding moral victories on a 25-win team.

Last season aside, when he's healthy and fully motivated, Frye stands as an excellent pick-and-pop big that could conceivably play a role for a contending team. Along with Goran Dragic, Frye made up one-half of the NBA's most efficient pick-and-roll combination in 2013-14.

In four seasons before signing in Orlando, Frye averaged 11.4 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 38.9 percent from deep.
