DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers appears to be erasing all remnants of a controversial summer in which he backtracked on a verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.
The center told agents Dan Fegan and Jerinn Akana of Relativity Sports last week that he'd be "moving in a different direction," the Los Angeles Times' Brad Turner reports, citing a source.
Jordan will be able to pick a new agent 15 days after letting his former agents go. He'll still have to pay the agency 4 percent of the four-year, $88-million contract he signed with the Clippers this summer, though.
Fegan - who has a close relationship with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban - apparently pushed hard for his former client to sign with Dallas, which may have played a part in Jordan agreeing to join the team in the first place.
ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported that Fegan wasn't allowed inside of Jordan's house the night he ultimately re-upped with Los Angeles.
Jordan's now left his representation three times since entering the league in 2008. He previously axed Joel Bell and Wasserman Media Group.
