VIDEO: Lillard warns Wiggins of Kimmel's cautionary tale in new Foot Locker ad
Brothers in brand and brothers in hardware, Damian Lillard and Andrew Wiggins are now co-stars in a new Foot Locker ad.
The adidas stablemates appear in a new spot released Wednesday, where Lillard, the 2013 Rookie of the Year, warns Wiggins, the 2015 Rookie of the Year, of the perils of growing complacent. Lillard uses Bobby Butter - Jimmy Kimmel in a bad outfit and soul patch - as a cautionary tale of what can happen when someone with loads of talent loses their drive to improve.
Wiggins points out that his near gear shows his commitment to pushing forward, though he makes no mention of his awesome developing hairstyle.
While the fake cautionary tale is good for a lark - every rec gym has a Bobby Butter - recent Rookies of the Year have a pretty strong track record of continued success. The jury is still out on Michael Carter-Williams, and Tyreke Evans never really improved, though he remains solid, but otherwise it's been a minute since the top rookie failed to stay relevant at the top of the league, barring injury.
