After his 2014-15 breakout season, Butler is set for a big pay day. However, with the NBA's salary cap set to increase in the next couple of seasons, Butler will want to take advantage of that by becoming a free agent once again at that time. Butler will reportedly resist the Bulls' plans to offer him a five-year, max deal, but given that he is restricted, Chicago will likely match whatever short-term offer sheet Butler gets from another team.
