David Lee will remain on the sidelines for Game 3 of the Golden State Warriors' first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday.
Lee has yet to play in the series and with a 2-0 lead the Warriors, quite frankly, don't need him. The 10th-year reserve power forward has been dealing with a back issue and also missed significant time this season with a strained hamstring.
Lee averaged 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in a career-low 49 games, the two-way emergence of Draymond Green greatly minimizing the effect of that. Green has given the Pelicans' Anthony Davis fits in this series so far, something not in Lee's wheelhouse defensively.
