An injured Devin Harris has his sights set on Game 3 against the Houston Rockets.

The Dallas Mavericks point guard is optimistic that he will see action in Friday's game despite battling a left big toe injury, according to the Dallas Morning News' Brad Townsend

Harris originally sustained the injury in the second-last game of the regular season against the Utah Jazz, and sat out the season finale to prepare for the playoffs. Harris ended up playing just nine minutes in Game 1 before he re-aggravated his toe; he did not play in Game 2.

Although he has been resting, Harris admitted that his toe has not shown much improvement.

"I'm about the same as I was in Game 1," Harris said. "We've got another three days, so I'm hopeful for Game 3."

Coach Rick Carlisle doesn't sound as confident, but remains hopeful that Harris can play Friday.

"His toe is getting a little bit better, but he's not ready to play," Carlisle said. "We'll update his status tomorrow. The hope is that he can do well enough where he can play, but he’s got a situation that’s sensitive because it involves the foot that had a very unique surgery and we got to be careful with it."

The Mavericks need all the manpower they can muster to survive their series against the Rockets, with Chandler Parsons reportedly ruled out for the first round with a right knee injury.
