Report: Florida's Donovan could be strong candidate for Oklahoma City Thunder job

Florida head coach Billy Donovan could become a strong candidate for the Oklahoma City Thunder head coaching job if it becomes available, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Wojnarowksi says the Thunder will evaluate their relationship with head coach Scott Brooks this offseason after the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in six seasons.

Brooks's contract is guaranteed for the 2015-16 season, and the Thunder hold a team option for 2016-17, according to Wojnarowksi.

Donovan, a longtime friend of Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti, has made his interest in moving to the NBA clear.

Donovan is a two-time national champion in his time at Florida. This past season, he became the second-youngest coach in Division I history to record his 500th victory.
