Harden registers triple-double in Rockets' win over Pistons

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook moved ahead of James Harden in the NBA scoring race on Wednesday night, so given this season's spirited MVP race, the Beard had to respond in some way.

The Houston Rockets' shooting guard did so with his third triple-double of the season Friday night against the Detroit Pistons. Harden had 38 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in the 103-93 Houston win. He's now tied with Michael Carter-Williams in NBA triple-doubles this season.

The leader? Westbrook with six.

Andre Drummond pulled down 21 rebounds for the Pistons, but missed three key free throws late in the fourth as Detroit tried to climb back into it.
