The Dallas Mavericks trailed for the vast majority of Saturday night's home game against the Portland Trail Blazers. In fact, they never led in the second half.
However, a 13-2 run in the final two minutes of regulation culminated in a Dirk Nowitzki three-ball that forced overtime.
The Mavericks went on to dominate the Blazers 15-5 in the extra frame for a 111-101 victory. Dallas outscored Portland 28-7 over the last seven minutes of play, handing the Blazers their seventh straight road loss and ninth defeat in the last 13 games.
The Mavs moved to 3-1 since Rajon Rondo went down with a facial injury, led by Nowitzki's 25 points and 20 apiece from Chandler Parsons and Monta Ellis. Sans Rondo, Parsons did a great deal of the Mavs' facilitating down the stretch, finishing with four assists.
Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 26 points and seven dimes, but missed two 3-pointers and turned the ball over in the last minute of regulation.
