Tony Allen out for Grizzlies again Tuesday
Even The Grindfather needs days off.
Tony Allen will miss a second consecutive game for the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday due to a sprained left ankle. Allen also sat out Monday in a victory over the Orlando Magic, but the Dallas Mavericks provide a much stingier test.
The Grizzlies will not only be without Allen but also point guard Mike Conley, rendering their perimeter defense susceptible to attack. Memphis is 3-4 when Allen sits this year and the team has been 11.9 points per-100 possessions worse when he hits the bench, with 6.8 of those points coming on the defensive end.
In 37 games, Trick-of-Treat Tony is averaging eight points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor. Jeff Green and Courtney Lee stand to start with Allen out.
