Kemba Walker: (Knee) Will Have Surgery

Walker (knee) will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, NBA.com reports.

Analysis:

Walker received a second opinion on his knee, which has been bothering him for nearly two weeks, Monday, and the torn meniscus diagnosis was confirmed. While the team is withholding a timeline until after the surgery is completed, Walker is expected to miss around six weeks. If that timetable is, indeed, accurate, Walker would be set to return in early-to-mid-March with roughly 20 or so games remaining in the regular season. Even without an official timetable from the team, expect Walker to miss significant time, which means Brian Roberts will step in as the starting point guard. Charlotte could look to make a move, however, as they currently cling to a half-game lead over Brooklyn for the eighth and final playoff spot.
