Dwyane Wade questionable Tuesday with knee contusion

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Dwyane Wade may be starting his holiday break a little early.

Dealing with a knee contusion, Wade was able to participate in shootaround Tuesday, but is considered questionable for the Miami Heat's game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wade missed Sunday's game due to an illness, and missed seven games earlier in the season with a hamstring issue. The knee contusion doesn't sound serious, and his participation in shootaround is a positive sign. With the lowly 76ers on the docket, the Heat may normally see this as an opportunity to rest Wade, but with Chris Bosh also out, no win is certain.

In 20 games, Wade is averaging 22.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists, while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor. He's been quite remarkable on the offensive end, taking on a much greater load due to the departure of LeBron James and losing nothing in the way of offensive efficiency.

It hasn't quite been enough, as the Heat have still struggled to a 13-15 start. Should Wade sit, the Heat next play on Christmas Day, when they host a returning James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
